Taylor and Ben could not have picked a better day for their fall wedding at Chicago’s iconic Lincoln Park Zoo. Living in Lincoln Park for eight years, Taylor and Ben consider it to be home. With the beautiful city views from Peoples Gas Pavilion, they knew it was the perfect place to hold their Chicago wedding ceremony.
Tayor and Ben waited to see each other until Taylor walked down the aisle, escorted by her mom and brother. Officiated by an old family friend, their ceremony was a beautiful celebration of their story, Taylor’s family history, and the beginning of their future family. During their ceremony at Lincoln Park Zoo, Taylor and Ben included a wine box ceremony. In the box they included not only a bottle of wine from where they had their first date, but also letters to each other and letters from their parents. They’ll open the box together on a future anniversary and look back on some of their favorite memories from their wedding day. We loved the way their wine box ceremony included some of their dearest loved ones and the significance of celebrating their anniversaries to come.
Following their wedding at Lincoln Park Zoo, Taylor and Ben stopped at a few iconic Chicago locations like Olive Park and the Wrigley Building with us for some photos with each other and with their wedding party, their close family members and friends who have walked through life with them over the years. We love how their wedding photos hold the grandeur of Chicago’s architecture and skyline combined with real moments between the two of them and their loved ones. They give context to this season of life together in Chicago while keeping the focus on the relationships that matter most to them.
Taylor and Ben walked into their cocktail hour at River Roast Chicago and the energy of the night was immediately elevated. Following the festivities of their first dance, toasts by their loved ones, and a tribute to Taylor’s father, they held each other and danced the night away with their favorite people.
Taylor and Ben, we were so honored to be welcomed into the most intimate moments of your wedding day. We wish you all the best, and hope you celebrate each anniversary with the fondest memories of the day you became husband and wife. Hugs, Becky & Kaleb.
Wedding photography is my heartbeat. For me, it holds the perfect tension between creativity and authenticity, observation and connection. In front of my camera clients transform to friends, and behind it you'll usually find me tearing up, cheering you on, or holding my breath because of the raw goodness of the moment at hand.
