Maggie and Sarin's Cheney Mansion wedding started downtown Chicago. A warm August day for a summer Chicago wedding, we met Maggie and her ladies at the salon to kick off the day. For Maggie and Sarin, this was actually wedding number three—after a courthouse wedding before Covid and a wedding celebration in India with Sarin's family, they were ready to celebrate with their stateside family and friends. Because Maggie and Sarin have already been married for over a year, their wedding day was truly focused on celebrating their love story, their marriage, and the family and friends who came to support them.
Their outdoor ceremony at Cheney Mansion took place just as the sun was dipping below the trees, the soft warm light turning pink as their guests were seated for dinner in the garden. We could tell this celebration was a long time coming—the way they hugged each person after the ceremony, the chatter of family and friends gathered before the ceremony began, the energy as they danced their hearts out with their friends.
Maggie and Sarin, we hope you forever remember the joy that filled this wedding day. Being invited to capture the day as-is, from joining you at the salon to seeing you toast and dance with family and friends in the warm summer air, we were honored to have a back stage pass into another wonderful day celebrating the two of you as husband and wife. Congrats and hugs, Becky & Kaleb.
Wedding photography is my heartbeat. For me, it holds the perfect tension between creativity and authenticity, observation and connection. In front of my camera clients transform to friends, and behind it you'll usually find me tearing up, cheering you on, or holding my breath because of the raw goodness of the moment at hand.
