The Grand stands as an emblem of history and elegance nestled in the heart of Crown Point, Indiana. When Liv and Dylan told us about their Indiana wedding at The Grand, we couldn’t wait to photograph it for them! Located within the iconic Old Lake Courthouse, this venue radiates charm and sophistication, making it the perfect choice for couples seeking a blend of tradition and grandeur. During the welcome speech Liv’s parents gave at the reception, Liv’s mom dropped the names of a few iconic weddings to take place in The Grand’s history, including the weddings of Ronald Reagan and Muhammed Ali. Now Liv and Dylan are part of the local history of The Grand! With its rich historical significance and architectural details unique to the area, The Grand offers an unparalleled backdrop for unforgettable weddings.
Inspired by their alma mater, Indiana University, Liv and Dylan chose crimson as the main color of their wedding, weaving their personal story into their wedding celebration and tying their color palette to the vibrant red of the historic courthouse. With touches of red in florals, bridesmaids’ dresses—even custom IU jerseys they included on their Save the Dates—Liv and Dylan’s wedding reflected their shared history.
With their wedding set in the center of the Crown Point Square, Liv and Dylan had their ceremony in the Old Courtroom followed by a reception in the Ballroom overlooking the Square. Liv got ready in the bridal suite—one of our favorites in the region—with its large window and beautiful soft light. We took wedding photos outside of The Grand to capture the beautiful setting, as well as some inside, with the beautiful architecture of The Grand as a backdrop.
From Taylor Swift bracelets (and an amazing proposal reenactment on the dance floor to Taylor Swift’s “Love Story”) to crimson red, Liv and Dylan included personal touches to connect their wedding celebration to their story. They also showed us a brick outside the Courthouse inscribed with their wedding date, a permanent momento of their day now ingrained in the history of The Grand.
Liv and Dylan, we absolutely loved your Halloween-adjacent hometown wedding celebration. Throughout the entire day, we loved that you were present and took every opportunity to talk and laugh with the people who came out to celebrate with you. Hearing old stories about the two of you during speeches and side conversations with your family and friends was so fun as we photographed this new memory for you! Congrats to you both!
