No matter how many times they changed plans, made phone calls, worried about details—as soon as they were together on their wedding day, it was just about them and the moments they shared with their close family and friends. Dave and Jodi planned their winter Indiana wedding, and while the planning process was nothing short of an adventure, their wedding day was a dream.
A light dusting of snow fell that morning, just barely covering the ground and trees, transforming the landscape into a winter wonderland. Jodi and Dave chose to get married and take photos at Dave's church, a place special to them and the beginning of their life together. We showed up that morning as Jodi was getting her makeup done—her mom, best friend, and Dave's mom all sitting around her watching. She was stunning. Meanwhile Dave and the guys hung out and waited, the anticipation building for Dave to see his wife.
They braved the snow and saw each other in the crisp winter air. I don't think Jodi's smile left her face the entire time.
Jodi and Dave, we loved capturing the day you became husband and wife! We loved so many moments from your wedding day, but here are some of our favorites: Dave and the guys' tie tying affair, the moment Jodi saw herself in the mirror after she slipped into her wedding dress, the way Jodi and her dad both *almost* cried when he saw her for the first time, Dave and his mom holding back tears as they walked down the aisle together, your smiles as you saw your friends in the back of the church, and the conversations you shared with family and friends at your reception. What an honor to spend the day capturing two such humble, gracious, and wonderful people. Congrats on the new adventure of married life! Hugs, Becky & Kaleb.
Wedding photography is my heartbeat. For me, it holds the perfect tension between creativity and authenticity, observation and connection. In front of my camera clients transform to friends, and behind it you'll usually find me tearing up, cheering you on, or holding my breath because of the raw goodness of the moment at hand.
