We knocked on the door of Alli's getting ready room at Loews Hotel, and she was the first person we saw. She opened the door with huge smile on her face, the room behind her bustling with bridesmaids—sisters and close friends who couldn't wait to celebrate the very near future Mrs. Loveland. Alli & Matt's wedding at Loews Hotel Chicago was a beautiful celebration despite the gloomy spring weather outside.
Loews Hotel Chicago is a beautiful modern hotel near Navy Pier in Chicago. With a stunning outdoor rooftop terrace and two indoor ballrooms, the space can accommodate weddings of many styles and sizes. Alli & Matt worked with The Simply Elegant Group to plan a beautiful wedding. With the initial plan to get married on the rooftop terrace getting rained out, The Simply Elegant Group and Atmosphere Events Group transformed the ballrooms inside Loews for an elegant wedding celebration.
With everything conveniently inside Loews Hotel that day, we moved around the hotel taking portraits, photographing the ceremony and reception, and celebrating with Alli and Matt's close friends and family.
Their day was covered in thoughtfulness: through objects, relationships, and words from loved ones that marked the air of celebration for Alli and Matt. Her earrings were made from diamonds that came from a ring that once belonged her grandma, and then to her mom. The diamond Alli wore around her neck was a gift she opened from Matt that day. Her gift to him was a silver chain he'd wear on his wrist, and bottle of whiskey for Matt and the guys to share to celebrate the day.
When it came time to see each other, Alli and Matt couldn't wait. Both a little nervous, he teared up as he turned around and saw his bride. We loved how Alli and Matt would look at each other as we took photo after photo, and break into laughter—his forever dance partner, her forever confidant.
At their ceremony, the officiant told the story of how they met. Matt teared up as Alli told him how she knew he was her forever, the best man she knows.
And at the reception, her dad raved about Alli’s glowing potential, and each sister described how she both brought the fun, and excelled effortlessly at everything she did. Matt's best men talked about the funny times they had growing up and in college, but what stood out most was his unwavering support for his loved ones. They said he was the best of friends—the one they could always count on to be their encourager and rock. And when things got hard in the last year, they saw Alli become his.
From start to finish, Alli and Matt's wedding day was a true celebration of the ways they bring out the best in one another.
