We walked up to Katie's getting ready room at Sand Creek and were greeted by her mom and Sam's. With huge smiles they showed us everything that had already been set up for Katie and Sam's wedding day. The aisle, lined with flower petals where Katie would walk to her groom, the ballroom glittering with candles, the table lined with photos of loved ones they were remembering that day—so many details fell into place, and Katie and Sam were ready to see each other and say "I do!"
Katie walked through the arches that lined the walkway to Sam, and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around, his eyes filling with tears, and hugged his bride.
We loved so many things about Katie and Sam's wedding day, but my favorite part was watching them at their reception. Person after person came up to Katie, held her hands in theirs, and each time her smile filled the room. Katie is one of the kindest souls, an easy friend to celebrate and a light to each person who crosses her path. Across the room Sam spent so much time talking and laughing with his guests and loved ones—we could tell how special each person was to him. For a man of seemingly few words, he made sure to care for and greet so many people in the room.
Katie and Sam, your wedding day was truly a dream come true, a fairytale beginning to a lifetime of love. Thanks for trusting us to capture your love, for giving us a front row seat to see how much you both truly care for and selflessly love the people around you.
