The sun was glistening off the tall grasses as we met Marissa and Brian just outside downtown Boise at Camel’s Back park for their engagement session. It was a beautiful, warm spring evening, the kind where you just want the sun to stay above the horizon for just a few extra minutes while you soak up a little extra time in the light.
We’ve been waiting to capture Marissa and Brian for a few months now, and it was completely worth the wait! Not only did we have the most stunning golden light, we also had so much fun getting to know Marissa and Brian. They’re coming up on their intimate backyard wedding in just a month before celebrating with a big one next year! Both from out of state, they moved to Boise so Brian could finish school without doing long distance. They’re adventurous souls who took the leap to be together, and can’t wait to see where they end up. Marissa and Brian are easy friends. Both so kind and genuine, walking and talking with Marissa and Brian was like catching up with old friends.
Marissa and Brian, we’re so thankful for couples like you who just make the world a better place by being yourselves. We were blown away by your authentic warmth. We can tell that being together is effortless, and that you seem to put each other first. We wish you all the best as you celebrate your marriage soon! Hugs, Becky & Kaleb.
Wedding photography is my heartbeat. For me, it holds the perfect tension between creativity and authenticity, observation and connection. In front of my camera clients transform to friends, and behind it you'll usually find me tearing up, cheering you on, or holding my breath because of the raw goodness of the moment at hand.
