I loved photographing this family at their home and along their neighborhood path in Eagle, Idaho last fall! With two boys in elementary school, they hadn’t had family photos done in years. These family photos in Eagle, Idaho were a mix of updated family photos and lifestyle shots capturing a few things this family loves doing together!
Designing this lifestyle family photo session in Eagle was a lot of fun. I knew I wanted to photograph most of this session using film cameras, and we designed the session around a few things this family loves doing together, which is a great way to get meaningful lifestyle photographs beyond family photos with a pretty background. The boys love exploring and walking the path in the neighborhood, so we started the morning there. We let the session flow naturally, and I spent the morning photographing this family hanging out in their kitchen, playing football in the backyard, and even doing a family workout together.
I love that these family photos really show this family at this stage in their life together—sweet interactions, having fun together, doing the things they normally do on the weekends. With a growing family, mundane moments are often the most cherished.
I love taking family photo sessions slow—spending an hour or two with a family really gives me the freedom to slow down and create photographs that would never happen if we were rushed during the session. Letting families play creates opportunities to capture such beautiful candid moments and meaningful interactions. During these family photos in Eagle, the boys had so much fun running back and forth along the path, chasing their dogs, exploring a bridge over a little stream, and walking together as a family.

I’m Becky, a lifestyle and family photographer in Idaho where I live with my husband and son. Each time I pick up my mom’s old film camera to snap a photo of my boys or grab a phone photo of a mundane moment with my son makes me a better photographer for my clients. As an artist I’m not only creating my favorite work with clients. Day in and day out, I’m capturing the things in my own life worth remembering—the stories I’ll be retelling for years—and I’d love to do that for you.
I love photographing families and the life they are building together. While I love creating beautiful photographs that catalog another year gone by for families, I’m obsessed with capturing raw interactions and families as they truly are. What I hope for my lifestyle and family sessions is that they become a time for families to connect with their loved ones in a way that’s meaningful to them.

Wedding photography is my heartbeat. For me, it holds the perfect tension between creativity and authenticity, observation and connection. In front of my camera clients transform to friends, and behind it you'll usually find me tearing up, cheering you on, or holding my breath because of the raw goodness of the moment at hand.
