As photographers, we are constantly working on our craft—as artists, creating photographs that portray feelings and tell stories for our couples. We’re photographers in Boise who shoot both film and digital as we capture weddings and engagement sessions for our couples!
I’m a strong believer that an artist can create with anything, and this year we loved incorporating some film cameras into our workflow. Unlike working with digital cameras, photographers who shoot film aren’t able to see the immediate result. This changes the way we photograph using film—each click of the shutter is more intentional. We love the values that film photography helps fuse into our work and art, like slowing down; less is more; good things take time.
Film photographs have a strong sense of nostalgia that captivate the viewer. As the format used by photographers since the beginning, film creates enduring photographs. The unique characteristics of the color and grain of film have a way of jogging memories. Trends within photographs will come and go, but using film to capture couples and weddings creates a timeless feel.
