We drove up to Silver Lake Country Club on the morning of Shelby and Gaige's wedding, looking for him on the golf course. With all their family and friends coming to Chicago from their hometown, the whole weekend was set aside to prepare and celebrate!
In Shelby's getting ready room, music was playing while her closest friends from childhood and college secretly put the finishing touches on a photo album they made for her, filled with old photos, memories, and handwritten notes just for her. Her maid of honor was curling her hair as they caught up on life. And when Gaige and his groomsmen finished golfing that morning, they gathered to get him ready for his wedding day.
On every wedding day we get an inside peek into the most personal moments shared between friends, family, and couples, but on the wedding day of Shelby and Gaige, we were floored by the sentiment they shared with the people they love. There's something about living far from family that makes the time you spend together even more meaningful, and we loved how much Shelby and Gaige embraced each moment. We loved the way her mom teared up as she saw Shelby in her dress for the first time that morning, glowing with anticipation. The way her brother hugged Shelby extra long after the ceremony was a moment that stopped time. When Gaige danced with his mom at the reception, she hugged him close over and over again. And when we spent time taking photos of Shelby and Gaige, his brother was always right there, making him laugh and making sure he looked his best. You could tell how much Shelby and Gaige love their family—open to the adventure of living in Chicago, but cherishing the time they have together. And as each guest came up to to Shelby and Gaige at the reception, you could tell how special each and every one of them was in their life.
Shelby and Gaige, we feel like we photographed not only your best day, but also the sweetest reunion of family and friends gathered to celebrate the two of you.
