Collin reached out about finding a photographer in Boise to photograph his surprise proposal, and it was so fun helping him pull it off! He knew he wanted to propose to Taylor in Julia Davis Park, so we made a game plan together for a morning proposal there.
Collin and Taylor were in town during a beautiful fall weekend in Boise—with cool mornings and warm sun, the leaves were changing colors and Boise was showing off. Collin grew up in Boise but hadn’t been back in years. He and Taylor planned a trip so Collin could share that piece of his life with Taylor, introduce her to some family and old friends, and unbeknownst to Taylor—get engaged!
Collin planned to walk with Taylor to grab coffee and show her Julia Davis Park, so I brought along a blanket and a good book, hid my camera under my jacket, and waited! Collin and Taylor walked past me hand in hand, and just a ways down the path he got down on one knee and asked Taylor to marry him. Taylor immediately buried her head in his chest. She said yes and they shared the biggest hug! Down the path, I photographed the whole thing!
After they had a few minutes together, we walked around Julia Davis Park to take some engagement photos in Boise together! I loved taking engagement photos for Taylor and Collin when the moment was so fresh—I could feel their excitement and was so honored to capture such a significant moment and memory for them!
Collin and Taylor, congratulations to you both! I loved photographing your surprise proposal in Boise! It was so fun hearing more of your story as we walked around Julia Davis Park for your engagement photos, and I wish you all the best as you plan your wedding and prepare for marriage!
If you're looking for a photographer in Boise, I'd love to connect!
Wedding photography is my heartbeat. For me, it holds the perfect tension between creativity and authenticity, observation and connection. In front of my camera clients transform to friends, and behind it you'll usually find me tearing up, cheering you on, or holding my breath because of the raw goodness of the moment at hand.
